I was lucky to have a creative mum who encouraged us as kids to make things at any opportunity we had. I remember making everything from books to paper mache and painting those plaster cast kits. 80s craft was the best! I studied art and textiles at school and went to the London College of Fashion to do my diploma but decided as a teenager [because they make the best decisions right?!] to do a degree in glass. Yes, you read that right… I studied Three Dimensional Design and specialised in glass! While I loved the material and have a huge respect for it and the artists who work in this field, it wasn’t for me. I came to realise I enjoy the decoration element in design, the surface design. The styling and the layering of things. 

I moved to Australia, went back to college and studied Digital Textile Design as well as Graphic Design so I now create all my own prints and textile designs from my original artwork. I like to think of my textiles as wearable art! 

I returned to textiles later and haven’t looked back! Shiztastic began as a label that focused on using vintage fabrics to make homewares and jewellery, it has evolved over the years and is now a lifestyle label that creates cheerful textiles for you and your home.
